Break Gnomes to Pieces - Hammer Heads
This is an arcade game featuring rather interesting plot that will put a smile on your face. The game trains reaction, wits and sense of humor. Like all other popular titles presented by PopCap, it features quality, fun cartoon graphics and sound. Use your mouse bar to hammer down the gnomes, showing up from the holes in your lawn.
| | The only rule of this game is smash, smash and smash. The easiest arcade I've ever seen. Just like in normal arcade, the rules of the game require you to smash and click the gnomes. Yeah, those short long-bearded creatures together with their wives and sisters and other relatives. This is the only way to stop them from invading your lawn.
So, this is how the game looks at first sight: the green lawn in front of your house serves as the playfield for the game. It contains several holes. As the game begins, gnomes appear out of these holes at a high pace, where you will never expect them to appear. Your task is to choose the right time and smash the gnome on his/her head without missing. Once you miss, you will lose some part of your life power. However, as we all know from fairy-tales, there are several gnome kinds. One of them can be smashed with one or two hammer strokes. Yet, some are hard nuts to crack, and three strokes are not enough for them. | | Be sure not to hit the gnome extra time as your extra strokes are equal to misses and can cause you to lose your life. The living capacity of each gnome can be determined by the number of hearts at each gnome's podium. It indicates the number of strokes required to bash the gnome to death.
However, gnomes can stand up and protect themselves by putting a bucket on a head or threatening you with a rolling pin. If you smash the gnome with the bucket on, you'll lose your life. So, wait when the gnome takes the bucket off, and be prepared to shoot. | | No way to autosave before you are at level 6. No chance to make mistakes.
One more features of the game that brought me down is the fact that you have to start the game from scratch unless you pass the first five levels of it. So, the game can only be autosaved starting from the sixth level. Once you see the camera on your screen, you have to click on it as fast as you can because you never know when you'll get the next opportunity to save your game. However, the game contains lots of positive and motivating features. One of them are the hearts that you get upon smashing of peculiar gnomes. You just need to smash them with the hammer to recharge your life. Sometimes, after picking up a certain bonus, all gnomes are made very fragile and one hammer stroke is enough to bash them. One more hint: the tiny stuff like flowers and socks spread over the field conceal bonus score - so don't hesitate to bash it all. By the way, bonus score can also be derived through smashing the coins you get after each killed gnome : ). | The coins you get allow you shopping for useful items in the Mole's Shiny Shop. This is a tiny house that shows up out of the blue on the playfield. Click on it as fast as you can in order to get inside. The shop offers you a wide range of goods for upgrading your bashing power and recharging your life.
Like in the Chuzzles game, you will have an opportunity to admire your progress and power at the Hall Of Fame. So, as you are tired of smashing and bashing gnomes, you can always take a breath and enjoy the fruit of your hard work. |
