Puzzle Detective - Gripping Detective Story based on Puzzles

The title Puzzle Detective game published by RealArcade speaks for itself. It is a good-old detective story based on the puzzle mechanics. Your task is not just to match objects, but to find the diamonds and bust the criminals.

Seems like the game scheme is similar to that of Diamond Detective, which as your remember is a match-3 puzzler on the background of detective story.

You play as a detective sent by his boss to find the stolen jewelry.

On every stage you're to sleuth for a new stolen item such as Portuguese Diamond, Hooker Emerald Brooch, the Bismarck Sapphire or the Marie Antoinette Earrings. And you have to travel all over the world to find the clues, the diamonds and the criminals. The suspects you meet in the game are quite amusing as well as your impulsive boss.

The developers of the game, Joju Games, delivered the look and feel of detective story by elegant graphics.

The board is filled with detective related items. Your task is not only match them, but find the clues.

By  matching the items you reveal gold tiles. When all golden tiles are revealed you get the clue hidden under the gold tiles. There can be up to 6 clues hidden on one board.

After you get all the clues you have to use them to decide either what your next destination will be or which of the suspects is the criminal.

If you make a wrong choice - you won't get to the next level.

So the game also requires you to have some general knowledge about different countries and cultures. But, honestly, it does not take a rocket scientist to play it and tell the criminal basing on the clues.

During the game a player can get a few bonus items, such as  magnifying glass.

But, firstly, the game isn't that difficult, so you can easily accomplish the task without them.

And, secondly, the choice isn't that wide (there are only about two or three of them).

The story of the game makes it very original and interesting enough to make you want to find the stolen jewelry.
